Hello Everyone!
Initially, in our optimism, we thought that they may have meant it when they said our start date was the 1st of July.
Well.... as I sit here I'm at home in Adelaide with Dan, and not a single thing in our house has moved. Except, of course, for one of the oranges in the fruit basket, which I found on the bathroom floor when I got home from work this evening. I'm sure Niamh had a good reason for that.
Anyway, the point is, we are not in Papua New Guinea.
BUT, at least we have a contract. Dan reckons he's going to sign tomorrow, after they amend a few changes... Our new tentative start date is the 1st of August. After he's signed, we can finally get the visas sorted out. When we get the visas back, we can go on our "lookie lookie" trip. Hooray! We are fairly sure that this will go ahead now, and we'll be able to get a few more answers.
Another thing which doesn't sound particularly exciting, but really really is to us after months of hearing nothing, is that the removalist company are going to come around next week and give us a quote for packing up the place. Luckily we're not paying, so they can quote as much as they want!
Now it's a matter of finishing my 80,000 outstanding assignments for my training programme, a few last weeks of work, packing up the house and sorting out other more irritating things like renting our house, selling our car etc etc.
I can't wait until things finally get moving a bit more!!
Hopefully our next update will be a bit more interesting!
Bye!!
