Let's carpe this diem...

Hi Everyone!

I started writing a lengthy post last week all about our move out, and what we've been up to since, but it was quite boring, so I've ditched it.

Here have been the highlights

1. Move went quite well - having someone else do all the heavy lifting made it quite a painless undertaking.

2. Was fantastic having the opportunity to stay with both Dan's and some of my family, and spending some extra time before we go.

3. We've had an amazing whirlwind of emotions saying goodbye to everyone. Thanks so much to all who made it to our Goodbye Drinkies at the Col last Sunday - was fantastic to see you all. Here's a link to the photos on facebook if not everyone is on there...

4. I've been a bit up and down emotionally. Mostly down when I'm alone. And crying at very odd times, like buying a birthday card when "goodbye yellow brick road" came on. What is that song even about?? Anyway, I teared up because it had "goodbye" in it. I still feel very very guilty about what we're putting our family and close friends through. I have to keep reminding myself why we're doing it.

5. Tomorrow evening we fly out to Brisbane. We're staying overnight there, then the next morning we are moving to Papua New Guinea.

Time for bed now. We've got a busy day ahead! Thanks to everyone who is following our blog! We've had a lot of nice feedback so far, and I hope we manage to keep it spicy enough that you don't mind coming back.

Finally, a Biscuit fix. New words this week: Muk (milk), bean (tonight at dinner), boobies (accompanied by pulling my shirt open - nice), yesssss (a nice complement to her new fave "nooooooo"), tea!!!! (another big favourite - the Irish in her again), and some 2 word sentences: "nooo jooos!?" (no juice? ie give me a drink Mum!) and "mish gaga" (my koala - give it back to me now!)

Oops! Was going to add a Biscuit pic but realised I added them onto the other computer. Ahh well. When digging around on this one, found some of my old PNG pics. Here are 2 of them....

On the hike to Marambe. I'm a member of a group on facebook called
"I hiked to Marambe and it nearly f*&$ing killed me"
-and no, I am not the creator of that group!

Not my finest moment here. The end of our trip. I had lost about 5kg, and hadn't eaten in 3 days due to some mysterious appetite killing bug that I wish I could have cloned because I'm sure I could make a lot of money. We were also at the end of a several hour ute ride on one of PNG's finest "roads"
Ahhhhh the memories.

Not sure when our next post will be up - see you in Pt Moresby!!!
